A friendly sign near the banks of the Dead Sea. Your guess is as good as mine.
Due to some technical difficulties and a welcomed distance from computer usage, I have fallen a bit behind on posts. Here are some shots from Israel and more will be posted soon, including a chronicle to Ein Hod, the artist village outside of Haifa.

Web developer by day, photographer by night (well and by day too), Brian Chernicky recently completed a project in which he replicated scenes and lighting from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. All of the photos were shot in Encinitas. Check out his website and flickr page for more. He is often looking for models to participate in shoots, so [...]

Over the next two to three months I'll be running the website from Paris, visiting studios and getting involved with some different happenings out here. While I am sad to be missing out on some great events in San Diego (like Open Studios at UCSD this weekend), I look forward to bringing some new and diverse content to the site. While basin [...]

Reading the catalog, surrounded by Mark Rothko.
We stopped by MOCA this weekend to see Collection: MOCA'S First Thirty Years. It was well worth it. Andy Warhol's Telephone was among my favorites.
Everybody has their own America, and then they have pieces of a fantasy America that they think is out there but they can’t see. When I [...]

While I don't know Mr. Figi, I can say that I am very encouraged by the appointment of Larry Baza to San Diego's Commission for Arts and Culture. For a whole handful of reasons, I think this is a strong move for San Diego, and that he'll be an asset to the community. Now, we'll have to wait and see.
From the official release:
Mayor Jerry [...]

Mania Magazine looks to be an exciting new(ish) student run publication out of UCSD. According to their website, they are looking for involvement from those in "the emergent and youthful San Diego visual arts/music/literature/theatre/film/cuisine/etc" crowd (love that crowd). They are currently accepting submissions for their upcoming issu [...]
